A chorizo winter warmer…….

By 'eck love, it's a bit parky out here!

By ‘eck love, it’s parky out here!

Hey, just because Christmas is over doesn’t mean that it’s all doom and gloom for the next few months.  I love winter!  Plenty of hot chocolate, great big mugs of tea, big chunky jumpers, layers for layering sake, woolly hats and snuggling up with loved ones in front of a roaring fire. There really is no point in chuntering on (like our fellow Yorkshire folk would say).

Ok, it’s true I admit it, I’m not really a fan of being cold but if you wrap up warm, life on the farm does take on a new charm in the winter months.  The crispness of the ground, the nip in the air and when the winter sun shines, it truly is magical.  The one question everyone has on their minds is ‘when will we get snow?’

Each year we always seem to be taken by surprise as the snow makes a sudden appearance overnight.  The kids wake the following morning and squeal with delight at the prospect of sledging, snowmen and snow angels.

After venturing outside, where the temperature can only be described as ‘by ‘eck love it’s parky out there’ (Yorkshire speak), to the cosy indoors and lovingly prepared home cooked meal jazzed up with our award winning Yorkshire Chorizo sausage.   It really does make a champion fridge staple to liven up any stew or casserole. Try this slow cooked rabbit and chorizo casserole or if rabbit isn’t your cup of tea, it can be easily substituted with chicken legs.

Or if you just fancy a nibble on something, we’ve just launched a spicy hot fennel salami.  It achieved a 2 star award at the 2013 Great Taste Awards and will warm your cockles up nicely on your return from the great outdoors.

So, embrace the winter months, wrap up warm and marvel at your very own winter wonderland.
