A review by Dotty Dishes

I was recently sent some delicious chorizo from Three Little Pigs based in Yorkshire, which was a recipe that included La Vera Smoked Pimenton.

Three Little Pigs chorizo is inspired by the Spanish style of air dried sausage but is East Yorkshire through and through. Their free range rare breed Berkshire pork (the pigs are raised high on the Yorkshire Wolds) is combined with the finest Spanish La Vera Smoked Pimenton and selected herbs and spices and is tied by hand to create horseshoe shaped sausages. They are dried under carefully controlled conditions to produce a ready to eat chorizo for cooking and snacking.

The packaging was simple and cute featuring a little pigs face next to a youthful, almost handwritten font and on unwrapping the chorizo, it smelt wonderfully smokey and I couldn’t wait to try it out.

I made two different recipes with the chorizo – a Chorizo, fresh Pea, Olive, Chilli, Spring Onion and Parsley Frittata and a Spanish Risotto (above). Both were delicious and the chorizo added the perfect smokiness and a meaty bite to both dishes and I would definitely try Three Little Pigs Chorizo again in other dishes. Look out for recipes to follow soon!
